External Solid Wall Insulation – January 2013
On 10th January 2013, the government clarified that in many cases the installation of external solid wall insulation can be carried out under permitted development provisions of the planning process. This means that a planning application may not be needed where the permitted development arrangements prevail. The clarification was on the basis that the installation of solid wall insulation constitutes an 'improvement' rather than an enlargement or extension.
